# Security and data protection

How NumeroVero.Online protects uploaded numbers: encryption in transit, access control, appropriate safeguards and a data processing agreement.

You upload personal data, so the handling of that data is part of the product. Here is what we do and what we ask of you.

- Encrypted transport and authenticated access to every job
- Data separated per organisation, with role-based access
- Data processing agreement available for business customers

## Your role and ours

You remain the data controller for the numbers you upload; we act as processor and only process them to run the checks you request. You must have a lawful basis for holding and checking those numbers.

## Retention and deletion

Job results stay available in your account so you can download them, and can be deleted on request. Contact us to agree a shorter retention window for your organisation.
