## What this check detects

- Whether an active WhatsApp account is present on the number, yes or no.
- Whether the row can be normalised into a valid international number.
- Whether the same number appears more than once in the job.
- Whether the check could return a conclusive answer at the time it ran.

## The results you receive

The check reports presence only. It does not return profile pictures, activity, business status or any personal attribute.

- **Present**: An active WhatsApp account was found on the number at the time of the check.
- **Not present**: No active WhatsApp account was found on the number at the time of the check.
- **Undetermined**: The check ran but could not return a conclusive answer for this number.
- **Invalid format**: The row could not be normalised into a phone number and is not charged.
- **Duplicate**: The number already appears in the same job: it is reported once and charged once.
- **Technical error**: The row could not be processed for a technical reason: it is not charged and the credits return to your wallet.

## When to use it

- **Cleaning WhatsApp lists**: Remove numbers with no WhatsApp account before you build an audience, so your campaign size reflects reality.
- **Segmenting before a campaign**: Split your database into a WhatsApp-reachable segment and the rest, then plan a different message for each.
- **Choosing a fallback channel**: Numbers without WhatsApp can be routed to SMS or another channel instead of being contacted twice.

**Do I need to connect my WhatsApp account or a SIM?**

No. You upload a list and the platform runs the check: the workflow does not require you to connect your own number or send messages yourself.

**Does the number receive a message or a notification from me?**

The workflow never asks you to send messages during a check. You only submit a list and download the results.

**What number format is accepted?**

International E.164 format (for example +393401234567) is recommended. You can set a default country so local numbers are normalised automatically.

**Do you return business account, avatar or last-seen data?**

No. The active service reports presence only: present, not present or undetermined.

**Am I charged for duplicates and invalid rows?**

No. Invalid formats, duplicates and technical errors are not charged and the reserved credits return to your wallet.

**Is the result permanent?**

No. Presence can change over time, so a result reflects the moment the check ran. Re-check lists you reuse often.

**Can I combine it with number validation?**

Yes, and many teams do: validate the list first, then run the WhatsApp check on the rows that are still usable.
